Re: Job description: GISc Technologist Position (Grade A – C)



The Department of Environmental Affairs and Development Planning is looking
to appoint a *GISc Technologist on a 9 month contract*. The main purpose of
this appointment is to support CapeNature in and shorten the time taken to
complete the revised systematic conservation planning for the Western Cape.
This information is required to inform the Sandveld EMF Project and many
other strategic documents. The person will be stationed at the CapeNature
offices and will report directly to the CapeNature conservation planner.

The contract position is not being advertised in the newspapers and the
Department thus approaching the GIS sections of CapeNature, Department of
Agriculture, SANBI and DEADP to help to circulate the job description.
