[OSGeo Africa] Unable to read or open previously saved QGIS projects

Dear Dr Mdoka

It is probably not a QGIS problem, but a file management problem.

As students, they probably use a different computer each time in the lab, and use files all over the place, on local discs, USB dives, LAN drives, etc. Hence, the relative path names for the files being loaded by the project file will not always work.

The solution is that each student should understand exactly what files they are using and where they are, and ensure that they use their project files and data files consistently.

The student could also open the project file with a text editor and fix manually the <datasource> elements that have become broken.

Regards
Antony
