<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I have a dedicated Linux box to run GRASS via VNC
or somethign similar from Windows desktops.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I do not have it up and running yet, but I envisage
phasing it into my teaching and to use it as an alternative to ArcGIS for
training. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I have not explored all the add-ons but the main
reason for switching would be the advantage to use R.spatial on GRASS data sets,
with no import/export hassles. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>ArcGIS functionality is not much without a
whole bunch of extra add-ons, which becomes expensive. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>If there is a structured GRASS face-to-face course
for newbies, I will attend, and send students to do so.</FONT></DIV>
