GISSA's Open Source special interest group / OSGeo Local Chapter is running an 'Introduction to Quantum GIS' course, open to all. Please share this with GIS colleagues and students.<br>

You will learn how to drive QGIS and how to use QGIS to perform the most common GIS operations, including<br>
- making a map (cartography)<br>
- overlay analysis<br>
- spatial queries<br>
- data capture (mapping) and editing<br>
- working with different data sources<br>
- applying QGIS in your work environment (education, government, etc.)<br>
- how QGIS can integrate with other GIS software.<br>
- advanced spatial analysis (vector and raster)<br>

We will also touch on using PostGIS, GRASS and web services.<br>
<br>
Presenters: Horst Duester, Tim Sutton, Gavin Fleming.<br>
Horst is a special guest from the Swiss Canton of Solothurn, where all government systems are 100% FOSS.<br>
Tim is on the QGIS project steering committee.<br>
