The ArcGIS 10.3<br>geodatabase includes National Wetland Map version 5 (NWM5) as a feature class.<br>Metadata is included for each feature class as an xml. The zipped folder<br>(SAIIAE_v2_20181106.7z, using freeware 7zip) is approximately 501 Mb. The dataset<br>is a pre-release of the National Biodiversity Assessment of 2018 (NBA 2018),<br>which shows the extent and ecosystem types of the inland wetlands. The final dataset,<br>with attributes of the ecological condition, ecosystem threat status and<br>ecosystem protection levels categories, will only be released with the launch<br>of the NBA 2018 in the year 2019. The SAIIAE report should be cited when using<br>the data.<u></u><u></u></span></p><div><br><br></div><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-ZA">The wetland probability maps, generated by<br>Dr Nacelle Collins (FS DESTEA), have also been uploaded for each province. A<br>map (Provinces.jpg) shows the extent of the probability maps for the country. Not<br>all subdivisions of the Northern Cape have been completed, since the Inland<br>Aquatic Reference Committee found these areas to contain too many errors.<u></u><u></u></span></p><div><br><br></div><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-ZA">SANBI is in the process of uploading these<br>to the Biodiversity GIS website.
