=== Help bring your colleagues to FOSS4G ===

The first-ever FOSS4G travel grant program received 85 requests for
assistance. The applicants come from across the globe, and represent a
diversity of backgrounds, interests, and experience. We are very
excited to have the opportunity to strengthen the open source community
by bringing more people together at FOSS4G.But in order accomplish this
task, we need your help. Grant requests (for registration, lodging, and
travel costs) total over $100,000, which is more than ten times our
currently available funding. We would like to raise an additional
$10,000 to help meet this need. Please support your colleagues by
donating to our travel grant fund here, or when you register. Every
little bit helps; thank you for your support.

=== Field trips ===

When you join us for FOSS4G, we hope you’ll spend a few extra days to
discover some of what makes our little corner of the world special. To
help you do that, we’ve planned a number of outings on various days
before and after the conference. Come to a Portland Timbers game and
join the most passionate soccer fans you’ll see this side of Europe,
explore Portland on foot in walking tour led by Know Your City, or get
to know the area by taking a tour of local breweries or wineries. More
details on field trips:
