<div>I have been working behind the scenes since August last year to try and find suitable insurance for OSGeo-AustNZ, which has surprisingly been less than straight forward.</div>

<p>I have found a government sponsored group that specialise in sponsoring non-profit community groups for directors insurance etc (we still need to pay some costs though).</p>
<p>It looks like we may get cover, but it will need to be via an Australian entity. </p>
<p>I'm currently waiting for confirmation, however this process has been delayed by leave etc. It appears that we have passed through several hurdles in the process already though. </p>
<p>I hope to get the final word soon, however this timing is out of my hands.</p>

<p> Wrt the structure, if we can be covered by the insurance, I can set up a Victorian Incorporated </p>
<p> Association (similar to the WA model that we were looking at) fairly </p>
<p> quickly (~1 month for the legalities).</p>
