 thereafter.  Outstanding candidates from all areas of science- or engineering-oriented geodesy (“higher geodesy”) will be considered, although we particularly welcome applicants with expertise in the Earth’s gravity field, satellite orbit modelling, satellite
 radar or laser altimetry, or other aspects of physical/geophysical geodesy who will complement our existing strengths in GNSS geodesy, Synthetic Aperture Radar interferometry, and geodetic remote sensing.

 of the NERC Centre for the Observation and Modelling of Earthquakes, Volcanoes and Tectonics (COMET+), as well as with the University’s Centre for Earth Systems Engineering Research and the School’s Water Resources, Geotechnical, Structures and Transport engineering
 research groups. The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with other researchers at Newcastle and at other UK and international institutions.
