In time we should have a well maintained list of reg. conferences where we can point to. Until then it is fine to pick out a few only like Japan et al with long history.

Peter,
Looks pretty good. I'd be inclined to list more regional conferences, or 
no regional conferences, to avoid offending people.
Suggestions below which you can accept or not as you see fit.
