    I'm strongly in favour of allowing newly elected charter members to
    become board members, assuming there is community support to vote
    the person onto the board.<br>

    Unfortunately there are many very worthy OSGeo community members who
    are not charter members yet. I'm hoping to see that change with the
    new, more inclusive rules for charter member voting.<br>
