<div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr">Hyoshin Nam:</div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">OSGeo is an international organization with members all over the world (including a wonderful <a href="http://www.osgeo.kr">local chapter in Korea</a>). OSGeo does not have a physical location in Boston, although we have some of our members who live there and may be able to talk with you.</div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">Please note that many of our software projects are developed in a distributed fashion, allowing your software developers and system managers to participate remotely. As an example I work on a project <a href="http://geoserver.org">GeoServer</a> which has <a href="http://geoserver.org/devel/">several opportunities for community development</a> an email list for developer communication and a video chat every couple of weeks, and the last Friday of each month we devote to fixing bugs.</div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">If you do wish to talk about open source software licenses we have an <a href="https://www.osgeo.org/about/committees/incubation/">incubation committee</a> (once again with an <a href="https://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/incubator">email list</a>) which helps development teams choose a license and set up their projects.</div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">Finally our software foundation occasionally enters into strategic partnership with industry development groups such as yours. We have a page on <a href="https://www.osgeo.org/partners/">partners and friends</a> you can look at for examples. Partners have a formal agreement, friends have a history of collaboration but no formal agreement in place.<br clear="all"><div><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_signature"><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div>--</div><div>Jody Garnett</div></div></div></div></div></div><br></div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Mon, 23 Sep 2019 at 16:13, KOSSA, osskorea <<a href="mailto:osskorea@osskorea.org">osskorea@osskorea.org</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left-width:1px;border-left-style:solid;border-left-color:rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div dir="ltr"><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr"><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif">To whom it may concern,</span><br></div><div dir="ltr"><div><font face="arial, sans-serif"><br></font></div><div><font face="arial, sans-serif">Hello, this is Hyoshin Nam at Korea Open Source Software Association (KOSSA) in Seoul.</font></div><div><font face="arial, sans-serif"><br>KOSSA and Korean National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA</font><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif">) has been planning an overseas training program for domestic software developers. </span></div><div><font face="arial, sans-serif">The purpose of this training is to extend and exchange their knowledge and techniques in the field and </font></div><div><font face="arial, sans-serif">also to experience SW related organization and companies where they develop open source software and to learn more on license for open-source software. </font></div><div><font face="arial, sans-serif">This overseas program will be conducted between </font><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif">30 Sept. and 3 Oct. 2019 and we will be </span><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif">visiting Boston during this period with group of 10 software developers and system managers.</span></div><div><br></div><div><font face="arial, sans-serif">In this regards, we would like to visit </font>OSGeo to have better understanding of what you do in your foundation and also will be grateful to have a brief meeting with a person who are related with open source software (developing, licencing etc.).
