By having remote/virtual participation options at future FOSS4G conferences will help also widen participation for economically poor students worldwide to join the conferences , learn and present their work. Thanks.</div>

thanks for retweeting ! This years EGU Data Help Desk is a learning experience ( first time that its done via chat, like the whole conference), but things are looking good and there is a lot of participation overall. I will report back after EGU and update
the wiki page for lessons learned.<br>

One observation which might be of interest for future FOSS4G events: A growing number of presenters not just uploaded their presentation slides to the conference size (to complement the text-based abstract), but a video recording of the presentation slides
with a voice-over narration. <br>
<br>
This could be an option to allow for "socially distanced participation" to avoid travel and lower the carbondioxide-footprint of an event.<br>
