<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt">Observations from Earth-orbiting satellites are growing unprecedentedly making it virtually impossible to download the complete record-length and full-coverage observations on local computing environments. Data
from operating satellites such as Landsat-8, Sentinel-1 and 2 are hosted on the cloud, and future missions (e.g. SWOT and NISAR) are expected to provide data primarily though cloud services. Therefore, our current research paradigm of downloading/processing
data locally is likely evolving towards accomplishing these tasks on the remotely and there is a need to promote usage from the scientific community to enable its research endeavors. Moreover, new standards and specifications related to the processing, storing
and exchange of data within the cloud should be developed.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">This session covers the following topics: cloud-ready science data systems, cloud-optimized storage, data sharing standards on the cloud, cloud analytics engine, and use of cloud resources for scientific discovery. We welcome perspectives
from both software development and scientific usage communities.<o:p></o:p></p>
