Hello all,

I'm adding my thoughts on this since I told Tonis that I can help with
building the website.

a)  I agree with Luca about gitea, the repo can be created there and
mirrored to github, or vice-versa (created in github mirrored in gitea).
Gitea is not planning anytime soon to have gitea pages.

b) In my knowledge, one github repo can only be connected with one
github pages. So if we have different branches for each year, we can
choose only one of those branches to be served as github pages. So the
websites for previous years will not be available. Correct me if I am
wrong with this.

Alternatively you can have the previous years as folders ('2014',
'2015') in the same repo and serve them under
https://europe.foss4g.org/2015, but this would work in HTML static pages
websites.

c) And related with the last sentence, I don't have strong opinions on
the use of Jekyll or Hugo. Although I have worked more with Jekyll.

Would be helpful on finding a nice website template that fits the needs,
and doesn't need to create code from scratch for many things, as in case
of FOSS4G Prizren website, as Besfort said previously we made many
changes to the theme to adopt to the needs, considering that there was a
lot of content to be put on the webpage. The theme was fine, but for
events with less content.

Either way if the theme is adopted the first time, for the next
conference will have less work to change everything in the layouts and
designs.

Best,

Sidorela
