In the interests of giving Denver more time to prepare for foss4g2011, I'm changing my vote on moving to stage 2 to +1.<br>

However, I would like to see a commitment from Denver within the next few weeks, and definitely before the completion of stage 2, toward creating Open documentation and artefacts during the conference preparation.<br>

1. I really want GITA to weigh in directly on the issue of sharing their information. I believe they have said in the past that it won't be a problem. But I want to give them the chance to be more specific. Fortunately, since their bread and butter comes from running a trade organization and not obscuring the details of conferences, I'm betting they will be entirely open. Unfortunately, everyone at GITA is in Phoenix this week running their main conference (as are most of the Denver LOC members).<br>

2. Jeff said this issue doesn't need to be part of this first process and can wait until later.<br>

Reason: I don't think I've seen an answer from Denver to the<br>
following questions:<br>

* Are you prepared to share all created material as part of the<br>
conference under an Open Licence? This would include the budget as<br>
well all fliers etc.<br>
<br>
* Are you prepared to share all created material in source format.<br>
Eg, for the budget, can it be provided in Excel format as well as,<br>
or instead of PDF.<br>
<br>
I want to see answers to these questions committed to before we<br>
select the conference venue, as the value to future conferences<br>
will be high, and our experience in 2009 was that we were unable<br>
to retrospectively have our PCO open up their documentation for us<br>
after we had won the ability to host.<br>
I will move my vote to +1 after seeing a positive response to the<br>
above questions.<br>
