to organize a meeting/conference with the main subjects on Free and Open Source Software for GIS (FOSS4G) in 2017. The idea is to spread the FOSS technology and knowledge on its use among others researchers, students, and professionals.</span></p>

the OSGeo effort to support and promote initiatives like our, would be interesting to align with OSGeo proposal. We know the Brazilian chapter is not active, thus, we could contact the Brazilian members to get their engagement, if it is the case. As we have
FOSS4G conferences in neighbour countries such as Argentina, we would like to know what would be the procedure to organize one in Brazil next year.</span></p>
