Thank you very much.

When the time is right I am open to having the conversation about a potential 2022 event here in Calgary. We have certainly learned a lot, made some fantastic connections, and would be able to reuse some portions of what we've already done. Right now, we're going to wind things down, hand them over to BA and have a (socially distanced) beer on the patio!

Cheers,
Jon and Calgary LOC,

Thanks for all that you've put into this. Surely it was a tough decision. Best of luck with everything as you've still got work to do.

You have all already put a lot of work into this; that work takes a toll. I can see how the idea of hosting a conference like this would be the furthest thought from your mind for several years; it certainly was that way for me after 2014! It seems likely that the conference committee could be open to a different rotation and non-competitive selection but that interest and initiative should start from your end, we don't want to foist something upon you.

Best regards, Eli
While clearly now is not the time to decide, and you will need to work out what's right for you and the team further down the road, I'd encourage you to not rule out hosting it in 2022. While you say it would be starting over, I'm sure there's a lot of planning, ideas and experience that you could reuse.
> To the conference committee, this is not super urgent but I think we should consider changing the rotation so that we plan on North America being the location for the 2022 event (whether it ends up being Calgary or not). Then also, as already suggested, when we reach the point in time that we would be starting the process, we check back with the Calgary team to see if they would like to host it and if so let them proceed without having a competitive selection process.
