[OSGeo-Discuss] object based RS with OS Software

Dear users of the OSGeo Discussion list,

Has anybody ever done object based remote sensing with open source software
(GRASS, SAGA etc.).
Are there modules, plug ins existing to object based image classification?
Does anybody have experience with the Segmentation module implemented in
SAGA GIS? To you kno if a semi automatic  -  approach to detect the edges of
buildings is existing, that was implemted in GRASS GIS?

Maybe you can give me some hints, webtops, software tips etc.
