On osgeo.org/events we keep a list of events that relate to OSGeo, open source 
geospatial ideas in general or events that OSGeo and friends will have a 
presence at.  We've only got a few items posted into the calendar so far, if 
you have others you'd like to add, drop me an email.

Likewise, with news about the broader community, projects, chapters, etc. you 
can always email your news postings to news_item at osgeo.org
