[OSGeo-Discuss] Install gvSIG 1.10 Ubuntu?

1. can't find gvsig in the ubuntu archive.
2. Downloading from the gvsi website gets the .bin file, which synaptic package manager ignores, and will not execute when clicked on. 
need help here,
