Carolina has a BS degree in Environmental Engineering from Medellin
University (Colombia) and a MS degree in Master of Science in
Environmental and Geomatic Engineering from Politecnico di Milano,
were she started the use and promotion of Free and Open source
software like Geoserver, istSOS,  52° North, Quantum GIS, OpenLayers
and  Geonode . She is a Associate professor in San Buenaventura
University in Colombia since 2007, working and teaching on the fields
of environmental planning and Geographical Information Systems. Since
November 2013 is a PhD student at the Hydroinformatics Lab
(http://hydroinformatics.polimi.it/) Politecnico di Milano. Research
activity is focused on Spatial Data Infrastructures and geospatial web
services, using Free and Open source software specially for water
resources management data.
