Hi,
Yes, for OSGeo-Live, we are asking for logos as 125x125 pixels with 
transparent background, but I suggest that you should provide multiple 
standard sizes of the logo, including an SVG vector version which can be 
scaled later.

I can't find a good authoritative source for icon/logo sizes, but this 
is probably as good as any:

There suggest image sizes of: 16 × 16, 32 × 32, 48 × 48, 128 × 128, 256 
× 256, 512 × 512, and 1024 × 1024 pixels

If you can find a better source, I'd like to know.
