[OSGeo-Discuss] Big Geospatial Data Hackathon with Open Infrastructure and Tools

Dear colleagues,

Within the Open-Earth-Monitor Cyberinfrastructure<https://earthmonitor.org/> (OEMC) project, the Institute of Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) organizes a hackathon/summer school, GEO-OPEN-HACK 2024<https://iiasa.ac.at/events/jun-2024/geo-open-hack-2024-big-geospatial-data-hackathon-with-open-infrastructure-and-tools>, this June, which will be hosted at IIASA in Laxenburg, Austria.

The hackathon is about open geospatial tools, big geospatial data, cloud computing, and machine learning for Earth observation. Each day will start with a keynote speaker, continue with a tutorial, including an example of a big geospatial project, and end with practicals where the participants will work on their own geospatial problem(s)/data. The application period is open until 15 March and there is a limit of 25 external participants, so it will be somewhat competitive.
