Hi all,<br><br>I am honored to have been nominated as candidate Osgeo Charter Member. I don't write on this list although I read it, so I thank you for inviting us to speak up for introducing ourselves.<br>I am an Italian engineer, hydrologist, and I'm about to discuss my final PhD defense in Method and Technologies for Environmental Monitoring. I widely use GRASS GIS and other open source GIS in my research work, mostly in hydrology field, and sometimes develop some simple tool in Python. I'm very low level developer but I try to be useful for the community spreading out the open source GIS in education field, helping students, giving workshops and organizing events. <br>
At moment I'm at the GFOSSDAY 2011, in Foggia (Italy). As GFOSS.it, the Osgeo Italian local chapter, we organized such conference on the theme of open source geospatial software and also we gave some free workshops. <br>
I hope to be useful for the community in the future, and i will try anyway, also if i'll not be voted, so never mind if you think to vote for other candidates, I saw many names of candidates much more worthy than me to join the Charter Members.<br>
