Hi Jachym,

in short we invited the OSM people to join our conference not only
as participants. In the first year (I think it was 2010) we had our
regular FOSSGIs conference followed by one day OSM talks. We
switched at noon, so that communities could meet.

From 2011 on we mixed up both worlds in a classical 2 tracks FOSS
and 1 track OSM. Active members of both communities can attend the
conference for free.

Being a member of FOSSGIS program committee for many years, I
noticed, that subsequently the handed in talks became more and more
"universal". While we could assign talks to OSM or FOSS track quite
good in the first years, we now have a much more mix-up and
especially for 2017 many talks could be assigned to both, OSM AND
FOSS track.

Also, the awareness of people from the "other" community became much
better and (only my guess), quite a few OSM-people joined FOSSGIS as
registered members.
For my business it's also cool to know people, that have really deep
knowledge of OSM and the OSM community.

Enough success story?
