Inspite of all the geotechnology developments, students and academics in poor countries and regions were left out for many decades. This is now changing fast , thanks to the great work done by our GeoForAll Academic colleagues globally.<br>
<br>
Next week at FOSS4G-Argentina 2017 [1] will help bring together many of our key colleagues to discuss and implement ideas to make sure all students in South America will also have opportunities for geoeducation. Prof Maria Brovelli (Chair of GeoForAll Europe
and co-chair of UN GGIM Academic Network) will chair a special session bringing together our academic colleagues in the region to expand geoeducation opportunities for all students in South America for the future.<br>

I want to congratulate to Sergio and all our colleagues in Uruguay on the excellent Nation-wide contest for public High School' groups (belonging to Plan Ceibal) that is just successfully done. Many congratulations all the teachers and students who took part
in the National level competition.<br>

Through their focus on Open Principles in Education they have now provided high quality spatial technologies education to students in all schools across Uruguay . Thanks to the Plan Ceibal they also have free laptops for all Primary and Secondary students in
the country so they truly have the opportunity to reach every student no matter they are rich or poor with high quality teaching and learning tools.<br>
