[OSGeo-Edu] monthly chat tomorrow at 8a

Hi,

I can't make this IRC, unfortunately. The semester has started here and
it is crazy.

Regarding some of Ari's meeting issues:

- I *promise* by the end of the month we will have some material up for
the group to see on QGIS and our initial efforts to develop some GRASS
material. We've got a new standalone course wiki established and will
post links on the OSGEo edu wiki to that material eventually. My team
members working on this have been away this summer so we are now
starting to get more coordinated again now that we are all back on
campus. One issue we are hitting is the best way to handle database
construction, e.g., joining data, under the framework of using QGIS and
the Grass extension to QGIS.

- Regarding the Mellon proposal, has anybody added any other components
to the page that Ari created? We need to get a letter crafted around
those ideas. Any takers for who takes the lead on that?

- Beginning next month I will try to make sure someone on our team
always attends the Friday IRC.

Cheers
Charlie
