Dear OSGeo Edu community -- for those of you getting emails while in Denver:

Proposed BOF meeting agenda (happening today at 5:30-6:30pm Denver time)

Our BOF meeting goal should be centered on identifying how we as a group can move forward.

BOF agenda:

5:30-5:40: Summary of activities by U of Nottingham (Suchith) – 10 minutes (skyping in)
5:40-5:50: Summary of activities by Phil Davis (GeoTech center, Demar College) – 10 minutes

5:50-6:30

Discussion of two “grand goals” for 2011-2012

1) The production of a FOSS4G workbook that coincides with the LiveDVD project that will undoubtedly be produced in preparation for FOSS4G 2012.

2) A discussion about how the grand vision of building a network of open source GIS labs/research centers internationally. I’d like to see us work to get funds for a workshop to get us face-to-face to work on this issue (as well as maybe a conference on open source GIS for education). So the 2011-2012 goal would be to get funds to hold such an international workshop to figure this out.

Finally, we need five minutes to talk about the report out for the session later at the conference.
