Building will work, but the test will fail, I think. Need to test with
the Sun JDK after installation.

Yes I want to. I am planning for a GDAL rebuild to integrate the
libspatialite support, which is under review right now. I will include
the image-io as well at that time.

@Ralf:

I am sorry, I missed your latest image-io files, can you or Mathieu
please send a final spec and patches with maven2+image-io so that I
can integrate the same.
