Does the same happen if you run php from the command line? If yes, could 
yes, install the php53 and the mapserver debuginfo packages and  provide 
a gdb backtrace?

simpy do:

gdb /usr/bin/php

...

run myscript.php

When the script crashed, do:

bt

and send the output?
