[ELGIS] POLL: 12 bit JPEG compression in TIFF

because I was trying to compress an 10bit image, this option might helped
but I don't know how much it works because when I tried to do it, it didn't work.
So how much reliable is this option, and also is it compatible?

How many out there would need TIFFs with 12 bit JPEG compression?
This would require that we configure with:

--with-libtiff=internal --with-geotiff=internal --with-jpeg=internal
--with-jpeg12
