<p>Hi,</p>
<p>I cannot look into details right now, but it seems that you have many repositories providing geos.</p>
<p>Can you please execute:<br>
yum repolist<br>
(or similar)</p>
<p>Do you have the Postgresql RPMs repository enabled?</p>
<p>Cheers,</p>

just add /usr/lib64 to my ldconfig directory or create a symbolic
link to the library? I'm still pretty new with linux sytem
administration and when presented with several choices I have no way
to tel if they are correct or if there's a better solution. I'd
appreciate any help. I'd be especially grateful for advice on how to
work out solutions to problems like this, so next time I'll know
what to do. Thanks!<br>

You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem<br>
You could try running: package-cleanup --problems<br>
package-cleanup --dupes<br>
rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest<br>

installed just fine.<br>

Summary : GEOS is a C++ port of the Java Topology Suite<br>
Description :<br>
GEOS (Geometry Engine - Open Source) is a C++ port of the Java
Topology<br>
Suite (JTS). As such, it aims to contain the complete
functionality of<br>
JTS in C++. This includes all the OpenGIS "Simple Features for
SQL" spatial<br>
predicate functions and spatial operators, as well as specific JTS
topology<br>
functions such as IsValid()<br>
