good question, in order not to over-complicate things I'd propose to add
the version number to the filenames and leave everything in master. Any
objections?

<pre wrap="">Hi Stephan,
does it make sense if I commit my spec file for MapServer 6.4.1 directly
to the master or should there be a "branch-6-4" like in the main
mapserver tree?

<pre wrap="">Hi Peter,
a belated reply to your mail...
We try to collect packaging related stuff for MapServer [1] and MapCache
[2] although this tends to be outdated *sigh*. Would you mind adding
your changes there?
Besides this we have MapCache 1.2.1 in our yum repository [1]. Maybe
you're interested to compare the spec files [2].

<pre wrap="">In case someone is interested in this, I put together spec files for
those two packages for CentOS 6.
Basically, both software packages switched from autoconf to cmake,
requiring some deeper changes in the specs, but now at least things
compile.
They are somewhat hackish and completely untested. I’ll do some
testing on them next week.
