I'm not a specialist of Python. I do have just basic skills of it. It seems that it's not a big deal to learn it in depth (i.e. OOP). So let's move forward with Python. As I said previously in my other postings, I'll start focusing on task A as starting point. In the meanwhile, it'll be great to have an idea on the framework that you'll provide.

Let's move forward.

                little bit more framework to move forward. I'll
                concentrate on a minimum for a usable tool that can be

              From my basic thought process I think that's:<br>
            </div>
            A. Ability to enter data and link it to plots/stands.<br>
            B. Generate simple stand/stocking reports with a minimum set
            of options.<br>
            <br>
          </div>
          At a basic level, I'll leave software design decisions to
          those more capable than myself. In this effort, I'll make a
          far better soldier than a general. That said, I'm happy to
          provide more leadership on the design/use/project management
          side.<br>

        Abdoul, what's your familiarity with Python over C++? For QGIS
        plugins (our initial intention) Python is the way to go and
        offers better accessibility via the plugin installer. C++ <i>may</i>
        have some benefits, but would be a bit more difficult for the
        average user to install.<br>

                <br>
                I think that's a good idea to formalize the project
                further. I believe that we should start from what you
                already suggested regarding the different tasks. We can
                work from that starting point. Can you take the lead so
                everyone can add his (her) suggestions ? This will help
                obviously to get on truck and to make sure that<big> </big>we
                are moving on to the right direction.<br>
                <br>
                I was wondering about the design of the software /
                system / plugin : e.g. building classes, inheritance,
                ...Or maybe it's to early?<br>
                <br>
                In the meanwhile, I'll start looking at A1.<br>
