Folks,<br>
<br>
As per meeting
yesterday, I proposed
that we make use of a
public, <br>
archived email list
for organising foss4g,
as used by this
committee.<br>
<br>
Reasons:<br>
<br>
* We are promoting
Open Source, and we
should follow best
practices and <br>
be Open ourselves.<br>
<br>
* It will reduce the
effort of managing
communication.<br>
<br>
* We provide an
opportunity for our
community to monitor
progress and <br>
get involved when and
if they become
interested.<br>
<br>
* Archives are
available for
gathering future
lessons learned.<br>
<br>
How:<br>
<br>
We have a few options.
Please vote for your
preferred option.<br>
<br>
a. We move our
communication to an
existing email list.
The <br>
<a
href="mailto:aust-NZ@lists.osgeo.org"
rel="noreferrer
noreferrer
noreferrer
noreferrer"
target="_blank"
moz-do-not-send="true">aust-NZ@lists.osgeo.org</a>
OSGeo email list would
be suitable. It is
hardly
<br>
used at the moment and
would benefit from the
foss4g traffic.<br>
+0 from me (Cameron)
on option a.<br>
<br>
b. We request an email
list be set up for us.
I'd suggest we create
a <br>
list which we continue
using in future years
and we request the <br>
following: <a
href="mailto:foss4g-oceania@lists.osgeo.org"
rel="noreferrer
noreferrer
noreferrer
noreferrer"
target="_blank"
moz-do-not-send="true">
foss4g-oceania@lists.osgeo.org</a> from OSGeo to be set up. I'll <br>
volunteer to chase
down the setting up of
this list.<br>
+1 from me (Cameron)
for option b.<br>
<br>
c. Do nothing,
continue to email a
list of committee
member's personal <br>
email addresses<br>
<br>
-0 from me (Cameron)
for option c.<br>
