<div dir="ltr">Hi all, sorry for the bombardment, I'm getting caught up after a couple of days of R&R.<div><br></div><div>Just an FYI - I'm putting this good news story on the website blog now & will promote via social media, with a call to action to contribute to our Good Mojo program (GMP).</div><div><br></div><div>I realised we needed a page to describe our GMP, so wrote one partly based on Adam's sponsorship prospectus. It's <a href="https://foss4g-oceania.org/conference/good-mojo-program">here</a> - comments invited. There is a link to our Tito ticketing page, where people can make contributions. I think we should be pushing this program at this point to get contributions so we can do more on the TGP, childcare, etc.</div><div><br></div><div>Cheers</div><div>John</div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr">On Fri, 29 Jun 2018 at 14:46, Alex Leith <<a href="mailto:alexgleith@gmail.com">alexgleith@gmail.com</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex"><div dir="ltr">Yeah, I agree that there shouldn't be special cases for presenters...<br><br>Ask them to put in a submission. <div>Thanks Cameron, sounds like reaching out to them would be a great idea. I totally agree with you, we should be supportive of this relationship.</div>

Nice catch on the wording re: a guaranteed speaking slot, I hadn't noticed that. I think we should ask them to put in an abstract, either formally through our submission process, or directly. Perhaps we could allocate a portion of the speaking slots to regional
diversity speakers, and decide whether we want to review them as they come in, or wait until the submissions close.
<div><br>
</div>
<div>I'm wary of creating a precedent of offering guaranteed speaking slots to sponsored attendees, without any review or process in place.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>For the purposes of putting out a blog post, can I suggest we change the wording to explain they are attending the conference, rather than presenting at it? Or say they are hoping to present?</div>
