    <p>I'm confident in the integrity and capability of the proposed
      board, and I'm confident they will continue listen to external
      ideas to help make good decisions. My extra vote on a board is not
      required for that.</p>
    <p>However, I should occasionally be able lever my social capital to
      bridge FOSS4G-Oceania and OSGeo communities. Holding a FOSS4G
      Oceania board position would slightly help me with that (but is
      not essential). So I'm volunteering for a low level board role for
      a term or so while other members are building up their OSGeo
      social capital. (I will also continue to monitor the email list
      and vote on things.)<br>

            <p>I will contribute toward board discussions while I think
              I'm adding value. I've held multiple positions within
              OSGeo in the past, and think it appropriate for me to make
              space for others to shine, (and also be realistic about
              the time I can commit). I'm not the right person for one
              of the central board roles, but happy to hover around the
              edges.</p>

                      member; and/or nominate as chair or co-chair. I
                      don’t have a great election pitch - I am also on
                      the ‘board’ (steering committee) of another
                      organisation undergoing the same process right now
                      (earth observation Australia), which might be
                      helpful experience - and it’s super exciting to be
                      helping embody the culture of this community in a
                      thing, and want to help get the foundations
                      sorted. Having said that, my ego isn’t attached to
                      any of it, so if there’s a better candidate then
                      all is fine and I’m less busy :D
