Subject: [Foss4g2008loc] next version of Prospectus

Hi all

Thanks for all your comments, here's the next version of the Prospectus.
Please send in final comments by Monday 16h00 GMT+2. We will be sending
it to our designer to doll up on Tuesday. It has a draft graphic cover
page in this version. The plan is still to have it ready for
distribution and use in one-on-one discussions by the 16th.

I will send out another e-mail about budget issues that have been
raised. Some figures still need to be included or tweaked in the
Prospectus, most of these are highlighted. Please provide input where
you can. Suffice to say that I am satisfied that the Prospectus meets
our 'draft final' budget requirements and that although the budget is
not formally approved yet, we will be able to start working on securing
sponsorships asap.

To answer two specific questions and comments:

Paul exhibitor question: You are expecting ... from exhibition, which
.... implies about 20 exhibitors, above and beyond the sponsors. Is this
realistic? What is the GISSA experience?

Answer: AfricaGIS had 35 exhibitors. This version of the Prospectus has
30 booths for sale. I'm confident we'll sell them.

Wilhelm, Ravi comments about "getting sponsors is a very personal thing
.... and the brochure will make little difference".

Inge summed the response up: "The prospectus is an aid to the one-on-one
meetings and personal contacts. This will help with getting the
sponsorship and outlining what options there are."

Regards and have a great weekend

Gavin
