<P style="MARGIN-TOP: 0px; MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0px"><FONT face="Lucida Sans" size=3>For the botanically inclined, the Cape hosts one of the 7 Floral Kingdoms, and I reckon the SANBI crowd will be only too happy to show visitors around some of this magnificence, possibly out of Kirstenbosch</FONT> </P>
<P style="MARGIN-TOP: 0px; MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0px"><FONT face="Lucida Sans" size=3>Oceanography/ Marine Biology - The Cape is obviously very interesting from this point of view, perhaps something through UCT or SAEON.</FONT> </P><BR>
<P style="MARGIN-TOP: 0px; MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0px"><FONT face="Lucida Sans" size=3>Cultural/Political/Historical visits:</FONT> </P>
<P style="MARGIN-TOP: 0px; MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0px"><FONT face="Lucida Sans" size=3>Possibly easier for visitors to do under their own steam, but important in that the more 'social science' angle is thematically woven into FOSS4G2008. The museums crowd from Cape Town (I forget their name) would be great to get into contact with on this point - they look after some interesting places.</FONT> </P><BR>
<P style="MARGIN-TOP: 0px; MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0px"><FONT face="Lucida Sans" size=3>Also, places like the Modelling Hall at CSIR Stellenbosch and Chief Directorate Surveys and Mapping in Mowbray could be worth looking into.</FONT> </P><BR>
<P style="MARGIN-TOP: 0px; MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0px"><FONT face="Lucida Sans" size=3>As to the question of wine tours and the like, my 2 cents is that you should not concern yourself too much with them. Focus on the technical offerings and let PeopleSA handle the more touristy visits.</FONT> </P><BR>
