Folks,
there seems to be an error on the Wiki page (please see mail below). It
would be great to have a direct Web link to the hotels and we would also
need a map with the hotels on them so that people get an idea how far
the daily transfer will be.

Are there any news wrt the landing point web site for FOSS4G 2012? This
was announced as almost done some time ago but I hear nothing since. Can
you please let us know if you need any help? We are running late in most
every aspect, it would be really good to get things done now.

Hi Arnulf -

I found something else on the osgeo wiki page that might cause
problems.  The first hotel entry on this web page lists a hotel that I
know to be 500 miles away from the conference in Xian.  You might want
to have this checked out before it screws people's travel plans
royally.  There is a Sofitel in Beijing, but it's not this one!

    thanks for the nudge - we are still working on getting the China
    organizers up to speed and to actually talk to us... For the time being
    I set up a Wiki page [1] on OSGeo with the best approximation of the
    dates that I know. The date is still marked (unconfirmed), once that is
    removed you can start booking.
