La communauté utilisateurs est énorme, mais la communauté développeur française est toutefois plus restreinte en France, selon moi.<br>
Aussi, les projets OSGeo-fr (traduction) ont fortement contribué à QGIS, du coup ce projet ressort plus que les autres, "un point c'est tout"....<br><br>Cependant, en essayant de lister les logiciels rattachés à l'OSGeo, et 100% made in france, je n'en vois que 4 pour l'instant (par odre alphabétique), prière de compléter si j'en oublie:<br>
<br>- MapCache (intégré à MapServer et compatible tout serveur WMS, logiciel OSGeo)<br>- MapFish (basé sur Shapely, Pylons, OpenLayers, GeoExt, logiciel OSGeo)<br>- TinyOWS (intégré à MapServer et compatible PostGIS, tous deux logiciel OSGeo)<br>
- ZOO-Project ( Reposant sur C et six autre langages, GDAL, et compatible avec MapServer, PostGIS et GRASS... en cours d'incubation OSGeo)<br><br>Du coup selon mon humble avis, les activités de l'OSGeo-fr et le FROG devrait s'articuler autour de:<br>

Je rejoins Gene à la fois sur le constat mais aussi sur les causes (manque de temps, manque de bras, journée trop courte, ...).<br><br>Au delà de la diversité des projets, il y a en France des projets SIG libres de qualité, notamment OrbisGis, développé par l'IRSTV (laboratoire de recherche) en java : <a href="http://www.orbisgis.org/" target="_blank">http://www.orbisgis.org/</a><br>
et la librairie java <a href="http://sourceforge.net/projects/opencarto/" target="_blank">opencarto</a> (également en java) développée par J. Gaffuri.<br><br>Promouvoir ou à défaut proposer la promotion de ces projets lors de la prochaine rencontre "SIG libres" serait une première étape !<br>
