[Gdal-dev] gdal_translate cutting image error?

I use gdal_translate to cut geotiff file. But the output file can't be 
viewed by ERDAS IMAGE 8.5. The ERDAS says "LayerRasterRead failed" and 
"etif_BlockRead failed".
Does anybody meet the same error?
