Sorry for the previous post. I figured it out. I didn't see it on the
geotiff page. It's analogous to the cvs instructions on the gdal page:

cvs -d :pserver:anonymous at remotesensing.org:/cvsroot login
cvs -d :pserver:anonymous at remotesensing.org:/cvsroot co geotiff
