Maciek,

It has worked fine for me. But I don't think it's what you need here.
gdal --with-grass allows gdal to read grass vectors and rasters. But
r.out.gdal depends on building grass --with-gdal. I've also found that,
at least for r.in.gdal, it crashes in grass 5.0 and works fine in grass
5.7.
