How about adding libral (http://libral.sourceforge.net/ ) to the list of 
projects using GDAL at http://www.gdal.org/?

A short description: "A raster algebra implementation and an 
experimental GUI+CLI GIS with Perl and GTK+"

The "experimental" is my excuse of not being able to produce 
well-targeted, tight Perl modules ;)
