Hi GDAL-ists

More and more often, I'm getting requests for a tool to translate ShapeFiles into GeoRSS. 

I know it wouldn't always be appropriate for every ShapeFile, but many cases such a translator would be very useful. 

There's been discussion before, on the GeoRSS list, about adding GeoRSS support into OGR. Myself, I've simply experimented with raw text OGR output, using Perl to build GeoRSS (for in fact, the map on the front page of http://worldkit.org/).

With GeoRSS heading towards approval by various standards bodies (OGC, W3C), perhaps the time is right to add support. Any plans for this? I've looked into myself, but haven't had time to become immersed in the OGR codebase to make it happen.
