[Gdal-dev] inconsistent "worldfile=on" options

Hi All,

Is there a particular reason why gdal_translate support "-co 
worldfile=on" for jp2 jasper and jp2 mrsid but not jp2 ecw or kakadu?
Or why png uses "-co worldfile=yes" instead of "on"?
And the one I'm most curious about, why there isn't a global 
worldile=yes option for all formats?
