Hi Frank,

It works!  I didn't get a chance to review the schema handling
module, but perhaps as time permits I will take a look at that
part of the puzzle.

So now the .dbf and .dat files in shape and mapinfo formats, and
presumably others, created from gml will have field definitions
appropriate to the size of data found in the input gml properties.
