[Gdal-dev] Motion: GDAL/OGR 1.4.1 Release Timing

Folks,

I have been meaning to have a 1.4.1 release for a month and a half or so.
A review of bug reports post transition to Trac shows lots of stuff that
*could* still be fixed in the stable branch, but there isn't too much that
is terrible critical to my mind.

So I'd like to suggest that we aim for a GDAL/OGR 1.4.1 beta Thursday
April 5th with the intent to produce a 1.4.1 release on Monday April 9th.

The open bugs logged against the 1.4.1 milestone can be found at:

http://trac.osgeo.org/gdal/query?status=new&status=assigned&status=reopened&milestone=1.4.1http://trac.osgeo.org/gdal/query?status=new&status=assigned&status=reopened&milestone=1.4.1

My intent is that we would fix whatever we can by Thursday, at which point
the remaining bugs would be reassigned to the 1.4.2 milestone, and we would
just go ahead.

We haven't really had much in the way of official release process in the past.
For this stable release I'll try this motion:

----

Motion: Frank Warmerdam will lead a GDAL/OGR 1.4.1 stable release with a beta
released on Thursday April 5th, and a final release on Monday April 9th
barring an objection from a PSC member at any point before for the final
release.

----

+1 Frank
