[Gdal-dev] Rotated lat/long coordinate systems

Dear gdal-dev list,
 
Does anyone have any experience with data sets in non-projected (geographic) coordinate systems based on a rotated lat/long sphere? Such georeferencing seems to be common in local-area meteorological models. Can they be described by the existing geodetic models in GDAL?
